All About Ogden

Ogden is the county seat of Weber County, just north of Salt Lake City. It was actually the first place in Utah to be settled by Europeans in 1846 by a fur trapper named Miles Goodyear. It was a prominent hub of railroad activity in the late 1800s, and you can see remnants of its former transportation glory all around the historic downtown and valley.

More recently, it was named by Forbes in 2010 as the 6th best place to raise a family in the United States. A majority of the households in Ogden are composed of families, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has a strong presence here. A wide variety of religious and historical sites are scattered all around the city.

If you’re looking to move to Ogden, activities abound. Winter recreation is big business here, with three world-class ski resorts 20 minutes from downtown and a whopping 450 inches of snow each year!
